Cosmetics and wrinkles
A beneficial effect that goes beyond the "camouflage"
Cosmetics, if correctly applied, can be surprisingly effective in camouflaging the aging of the skin, including wrinkles and signs of aging.
Moreover, additional advantages as the delay of the water loss, and provide a barrier against UV radiation.
However, as women age, the less cosmetic, the better.
Moisturizers
Moisturizers help prevent dryness but have no effect on wrinkles by themselves. They must be applied while the skin is moist.
These products are of different types, and retain skin moisture in various ways:
-- Occlusive, such as petroleum jelly, to prevent water from evaporating.
-- Humectants, including glycerin, act carrying water to the surface of the skin from deep tissues. Those with oily skin should usethese creams.
-- More powerful compounds, such as monolaurin, which contain mixtures of fatty molecules (lipids) that can help restore the skin's natural barriers against moisture loss.
Most moisturizers contain combinations of these and usually have other ingredients such as AHA, sunscreen, collagen, and keratin.
The creams can be used alone or under makeup. In the latter case, must be applied before makeup.
If reddish discoloration is extended or the skin is pale, tinted moisturizer creams may be helpful.
Makeup
Makeup can cause cracks in the creases dependent expression lines, and only increase the aged appearance.
The broad areas of the face are best covered with a moderate makeup coverage.
Facial powder reflects light and minimizes the visibility of wrinkles, but should be avoided in those with dry skin.
Color Corrector
When defects are prominent, applying color correctors under makeup can be very effective:
-- Green neutralizers mask red lesions.
-- Yellow camouflages dark circles and bruises.
-- The neutralizes purple skin and pale yellow defects.
-- A white base, pearl, helps reduce small wrinkles.
Cream under eyes
The skin under the eyes is very thin and does not produce as many protective oils that keep skin soft and supple.
The gels for use under the eyes point to reduce swelling and dark circles. They work in two ways:
-- The blood vessels contract to temporarily prevent fluid accumulation.
-- They firm the skin with an invisible film.
Never rub the area under the eyes because it may cause more wrinkles. Instead, apply these products in one smooth motion to stimulate the skin.
