Vitiligo: Areas of white skin

Vitiligo is a skin condition characterized by white spots, depigmentation on the genitals, the face or extremities, which can then spread to the rest of the body. Vitiligo is also called leukoderma or albarazo is located only in the skin and is caused by the death of some cells, the melanocytes. The melanocytes are producing melanin, which is the substance responsible for skin pigment.
